Our Story

Last season we went 37-20-2 playing in the MABA A league and across several tournaments, including 2nd place at In the Dirt's March Madness tournament, advancing to the semi-finals at Armed Forces Slug Fest, and earning the 6 seed in pool play at our end-of-season tournament at Ripken in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Our 9th place Maryland state ranking was largely due to our productive offense and shutdown pitching — we featured 4 hitters with over .500 batting averages, resulting in 573 runs for, while our pitching allowed 390 runs against, for a run differential of +183.

We're a mixed-sport roster on purpose. Several of our players also play football, hockey, or basketball, and that competitiveness carries over onto the diamond. We return a core of eight players who can flat-out play, and we're building around them for a bigger 13U season. Our goal this year is to compete with the best youth baseball teams, including teams in the CRAB league. We like our chances with the right pieces in place.

Our Coaching Philosophy

Fundamentals, In Depth

Our coaching style is detailed — we teach the fundamentals of hitting, fielding, and pitching mechanics in depth, starting with details like footwork and working up to team-level plays.

Positive Culture, Real Accountability

Baseball is a game where the most successful players fail often, and even the pros make errors. We believe embracing failure as a tool for learning achieves better development than punishment — our culture stays positive-focused while keeping accountability.

Personal Development Plans

Each player gets a personal development plan built on current high school, college, and pro-level instruction. During games we take detailed notes and give immediate, positive-focused feedback in the dugout; during the week we review film so lessons stick and skills improve faster. We also engage pro instructors for position-specific instruction.

Development happens with a process and time — we need parents to help. Outside development is expected at this level; players need to be able to implement their personal development plan outside of practice.

Beyond 13U

We know the goal for every one of our players is to make their high school baseball team. Our intention is to give every player the best chance of success by establishing trusted relationships with area high school coaches, and helping the recruiting process along with stats, video, and assessments. We also help parents build a network with local baseball resources, including high school coaches, local pro instructors, and college coaches.

What We're Looking For

Season & Schedule

SeasonDetails
Fall Season ~2 months, ~20 games. Schedule is built around football commitments, so dates flex to fit both sports. 1–2 practices a week, including virtual IQ and video review sessions. Weekend games.
Winter Workouts Held at Pease Mt. Airy. Focus on individual defensive positions — catcher, pitcher, 1st base, and middle infield — plus hitting (plate approach, off-speed and curveballs, directional hitting, mental preparation), strength training, and baseball IQ.
Spring Season ~50 games: 10 through MABA's new Elite division, plus 40 more through tournament play. 1–2 overnight travel tournaments. 2 practices a week, including virtual IQ and video review sessions. Weekday and weekend games/tournaments — we will likely look to host a tournament.
